Additional Notes about Redspire Ornamental Pear:

Invasive species.

Pyrus calleryana 'Redspire' produces sterile fruits because they do not self-pollinate. However, in the presence of other compatible Pyrus varieties, they can produce viable seed which is easily distributed by birds. Thus they can squeeze out native flora and reduce biodiversity. Unfortunately, P. fauriei cvs. fit into that category.

Consider other spring-flowering trees: Amelanchier spp, Cercis canadensis, Viburnum lentago, Cornus racemosa.
