Growing and Maintenance Tips:

This grass will easily grow in a moist to dry, well- drained soil, in full sun. It will not tolerate wet sites or a heavy clay soil. Foliage should be cut back close to ground level in early spring. This is a short-lived grass, lasting a few years, however, K. pyramidata will freely self-sow, so give it room to grow.

Additional Notes about Prairie June Grass:

Native to Ontario and most of North America.

Cool Season Grasses: These grasses do the majority of their growing in early spring and start again when temperatures start to cool in the fall. During the warmer summer months, they stop growing and some will even go dormant. Cool season grasses flower in the spring or early summer. Most cool season grasses grow best in a consistently moist soil.
