Growing and Maintenance Tips:

The prickly seed pods on Aesculus hippocastanum (which can be messy), are nearly absent on this cultivar, making it better suited for urban street tree plantings. The double white flowers on 'Baumanii' typically bloom later and longer than hippocastanum.
